1. Overview

ShopOffers ("we", "us", "our") is a free service that aggregates grocery promotional offers from UK supermarkets. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you use this site and how it is used.

2. Information we collect

2a. Account creation (optional)

You can use ShopOffers without creating an account. If you choose to sign in, we support Sign in with Google (Google OAuth 2.0). When you sign in with Google we receive your Google account name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We store your email address and display name in our database solely to identify your account and associate your saved favourites and shopping list with you.

We do not receive or store your Google password. You can remove ShopOffers' access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions.

2b. Saved data

If you are signed in, we store the following in our database (hosted on Microsoft Azure):

  • Your favourited products (product URL, title, image URL, retailer)
  • Your shopping list items (product URL, title, quantity, hidden/visible status)

This data is deleted when you delete your account, or on request (see section 6).

2c. Third-party analytics and advertising

The following third-party services are active on this site and may collect data independently under their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics — collects anonymised usage data (pages visited, session duration, device type) to help us understand how the site is used. Google Privacy Policy
  • Google AdSense — may display personalised or non-personalised advertisements based on cookies and your browsing history. Google Advertising Policy
  • Microsoft Clarity — a behavioural analytics tool that records anonymised session replays, heatmaps, and click tracking to help us understand how users interact with the site. 3. Cookies and local storage

This site uses cookies placed by Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Microsoft Clarity. If you sign in with Google, a session cookie is also set to keep you logged in.

We also use your browser's IndexedDB storage to cache product promotion data locally so the page loads faster on repeat visits. No personal data is stored in this cache — only the publicly available promotional listings from our database.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies may affect ad personalisation and your ability to stay signed in, but will not prevent you from browsing promotions.

4. External links

Product cards on ShopOffers link directly to the retailer's website (e.g. Tesco, Sainsbury's). Once you leave our site, you are subject to the privacy policy of the destination site. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for third-party sites.

5. Data retention

  • Account data (name, email, favourites, shopping list) — retained until you delete your account or request deletion.
  • Google Analytics data — retained for 26 months per Google's default settings.
  • Microsoft Clarity data — retained for 13 months per Microsoft's default settings.

6. Your rights

If you are in the UK or EU you have rights under UK GDPR / GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. To request deletion of your ShopOffers account and associated data, please contact us at the email below. For Google Analytics and AdSense data, requests should be directed to Google. For Microsoft Clarity data, requests should be directed to Microsoft.
